Nightly diferential pushing fulls on the backup copy only

TIH 2011 –latest release
W7x64
Local HDD primary image target
NAS backup image target
Strategy: Differential
Schedule: Nightly
Cleanup: not keep original full: 1full+diff.
Image Data set: 950GB
Volatility: 100MB change/day
Issue:
Primary image works as expected (1 full + daily differentials)
Backup image is not correct. Pushing a full daily – it is as if TIH doesn’t recognize the ability to create a differential. The nightly will push about 100M to the HDD, but the entire 950G to the NAS. NAS: full+full+full+etc
Obviously this is a large amount of data to push nightly to NAS making the backup strategy unusable.
Any ideas?

Interesting... I was wondering how these reserve copies were handling the clean up options, but it looks like there more serious issues.
Try to recreate the task and see if that solves the issue.
- using windows explorer, copy the archives you want to keep to another directory for safekeeping,
- using ATI, delete the faulty backup (that will delete all the archives tracked by it)
- delete remaining archives if any,
- go to c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts. Right click on each file in there and verify they correspond to backups or validations you are running. If you find unwanted scripts, let us know: we would have to use schedmgr to clean up your task list.
- recreate your task as you did.

recreating task now.

Just created an identical script but with small data set.
ran and worked. changed single small file, re-ran. primary has a diferential. reserve copy is a full.
Something is not right here.

Agreed. This looks like a bug. If you have a trial, you should file a support ticket.
A possible workaround is to set 2 identical tasks and schedule them close to each other. The second will be queued after the initial one. The result will be the same and you will have more flexibility in terms of managing the backup sets.

OK. Here is where we stand..
Removed reserve copy from backup set and problem behavior eliminated
100% repeatable with new scripts with reserve copy added

Removed all scripts from ATI
Removed all scripts from the scripts directory
Starting from scratch.
Same result.
At this point, Think it is a bug report.

Yep. I thought about coming back to you to make sure all the scripts were out. But you did it... Good catch!
