Hello Support,

Issue Summary - I had HP pavilion dm4 laptop with 650 GB hard drive & lately it was giving me "Windows Detected a Hard Drive Problem" - Hence I decided to replace the hard drive. I bought WD 500 GB equivalent hard drive to backup entire PC and copy onto new hard drive. Note I only had 120 GB on current hard drive.

I plugged in WD 500 GB hard drive external to my laptop as USB device, initially it was not recognized, but I went to Computer Management & made partition primary & quick format it.

Acronis: I downloaded Trial Version of Acronis - selected Backup "My Entire PC" --> New Destination (I selected G:\ Drive entire external Hard Drive) --> Backup.

Now the Backup of Entire PC is completed, but when I replace my "Error" hard drive with "WD 500 GB" hard drive, I get the message as "No bootable device - Insert boot disk and press any key"

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you
hpatel

Hello Support,

Thanks for your replies...

I found that Acronis has drive clone feature in paid version - hence I ended up buying the software & then I was able to do what I intended.

Please close the ticket.

Thanks
