No USB keyboard and mouse support in Rescue Media

Thread needs solution

True Image 2013 build 6514 installed on Win 8 64-bit.
Using Rescue Media Builder, I created bootable media with following components:
- True Image
- Acronis System Report
No command-line parameters specified.
Bootable media is created directly on CD-RW drive.

When I then boot the computer using the just created bootable media, the UEFI boot loader shows up fine. I can select option "1. True Image 2013", and the application starts up. But then I don't have any USB support. Both my keyboard and mouse are USB devices, and thus I cannot use the bootable media as no input is possible.

Looking through the forum, I saw other posts on USB problems and build 6514. Some of the posts refer to an even newer build, that can be made available in case of USB problems.

So, is the problem I describe known yet, and is there any version that solves it? As I cannot use the rescue media, I am blocked: I want to replace my current W8 system drive by a backup I made initially.

Please help me out. Thanks in advance,

Steven

It's a known issue that we hope will be fixed in the next build.

Hello Tuttle,

Thanks for your prompt reply!

Of course the obvious question then: when is the next build scheduled to be available?

And... is the USB problem only about wireless keyboards and mice? If I find an 'old' wired keyboard and mouse (USB), would that work fine?

We never know in advance.

They should, yes.

I bypass the problem with a wired USB mouse and a wired PS/2 keyboard.

But I get other concern as I/O error on USB3 external drive.
So I go back to Acronis True Image 2012.

I have not seen such issue using my external drives on USB 3.0.

Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case. See if that works better.
