Non Stop Backup Drive Requirements
I am running Win 7 64Bit. I have a Main Drive with two Partitions, System C: and Data E:.
I have setup a Second Drive for Backup with two Partitions: System C:Image F: and Data E Image G:
I use Full Backup for my System Backup after any substantial change to my System and Installed Programs. I am using Non Stop Backup for my Data Backup. Is this Backup Drive set up correctly for Non Stop Backup to work properly.
The reason I ask this is, that when looking at the Drive Partition in My Computer, that receives the Data E Image created by Non Stop Backup, it shows 510GB used, but when I open this Drive, it states there is nothing there and no files or folders are to be seen.
I found a statement in the documentation about not being able to use a Partition for Non Stop Backup and this has confused me and I cannot understand why this would be the case.
Can someone please advise as I do not particularly wish to set up a seperate drive just to use Non Stop Backup for backing up Data on E:
Please enlighten me.

Thank you for this information.
I had been considering version chain, for simplicity, if nothing else.
What are your thoughts on this.

Version chain is fine. I prefer a custom backup, incremental or differential, do a new full every 6 partials, keep only 12 version chains and schedule the backup daily. This gives you one backup a day, one new full every week, and 3 months worth of history. Of course, you can choose whatever parameter you need.
I also use sync software to backup big files that I don't need to keep versions of: MP3, MP4, VOB, AVI, MTS, etc.
Finally I double/triple backup irreplaceable files (pictures and home documents) to a drive I take to my office, and to online services.
