TS,

Do you know which vendor your network card is from and which chipset your motherboard uses?

Have you tried running a repair install of True Image, just in case it didn't overwrite a 5551 file correctly?

HP Elitebook 8440p
Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection
Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family

Have not tried to reinstall True Image Home 2013 + Plus Pack - how to?

As the name suggests, a repair install means running the True Image installer again, it will then offer you a repair option.

did an repair install - did not help at all. the nw failure at Startup is the samt - deactivating the nonstop backup Service helps.
this worked fine with the older build.

What speed is the network card set to?

If you change the speed to 10MBS does everything start working again?

Which chipset runs your network card? For example, my Gigabyte MB uses a Realtek chip, which is known to disable itself under certain conditions.

You could try the following that will reset the chip if it is a Realtek one, switch off the PC and remove the power cable completely, wait for about 3 minutes, plug back in and then power up.
