Nonstop Backup stopps at 20%

Thread needs solution

Hi together,

Im using TruImage2010 on vista. Everthing was working fine including nonstop backup.
But now nonstopbackup is always going to deactivate. When i start it, it works, but it stops after about 20% of saving . I tried it with another disk, but the same problem. I dont get any failure message. All other features are still working fine. I tried to start directly the service in the services section, but the same.
There was no known changing on the system
Any idea?

Hello Max,

Without additional information I can’t be certain for the source of the issue. In order to investigate it please clarify the following. Have you installed any software recently or maybe new service pack of Windows? Also have you checked the disks for bad blocks and file system errors? As it can be the possible reason for the issue I would recommend you to perform chkdsk with /r parameter:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If the issue persists please attach Acronis Report to your next reply. Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip). This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please also attach device tree to help me identify the possible program which can lead to Acronis software malfunction.

- Download and unpack the Device Tree application:

http://download.acronis.com/support/devicetree_Vista.zip

- Run the application from "i386" folder (run the 64-bit version of Device tree from "x64" folder if you have Windows Vista 64-bit);

- Completely unfold (click on all plus signs) the \Driver\partmgr and \Driver\volmgr branches;

- Move the margin to the right in order to see all the items;

- Make a screen shot and attach it to us.

If you are not using the latest build 6029 you may want to update to it. I am not certain if the issue is addressed in the new build at this point, however it is generally a good idea to be up to date.

Let us know the results.

Thank you.

Hi Dmitry,
thanks.
I did a chkdsk DISK: /r on this disk, but it did change nothing.
In the meantime two other image-backup jobs did no more work, they always asked for disks nr??

After deleting these jobs and creating them new, these jobs work properly again and the nonstop backup works properly again.
