NT-authentification and FTP : no access to NAS

Thread needs solution

I can’t access my NAS, Thecus N4200PRO, which is delivered with Acronis OEM, now upgraded to ATIH2011de, build 14.0.0.6696. My OS is Win XP Prof SP3.

Manual and several posts talk about an “NT-Authentification button” (check/uncheck) , which should obviously appear in the Authentification pop-up window (?) - it is actually not there in my version… can anybody advise where to search (the manual doesn’t specify the location if it is somewhere else). I am running an isolated network as user = admin, and want to keep it that way. Currently the program fails is you don't enter user/password.

Alternatively I tried to use an FTP-connection with user account and password, which also failed. In this case Acronis described the error as “it couldn’t access the target location”. It seems to be quite similar to other posts which describe problems when trying to access various NAS via FTP.

Submitting error-codes to the knowledge database didn’t provide any suitable answer.

Needless to say that testing all possible connections to the NAS via directory, mapped drive or FTP work without any problems.

Appreciate your help !
