old backups no longer available. How do I clear the "backup not found" log warnings?

I've got a working-perfectly backup system going.
However, all backups from the previous backup job are no longer available.
This causes each new backup to finish correctly, but then pause because of a "backup not found" message for the backups from the old (deleted) job.
How to I reset / clear the internal database of previous backups.
(I've already set "don't check for backups" but that doesn't stop the log warning messages.
