Online Backup -vs- Traditional Backup

Am considering trying Acronis Online Backup service as a secondary offsite source. Two questions: 1. Does using the online service in any way prevent me from or interfere with me continuing to make traditional local backups? 2. Are the Online backups identical to the local backups? I am concerned finding myself having two sources to restore from that are not identical.

Hi Mooseman: Welcome to the forum.

1. Online Backups do not have any effect on your local backups. You can continue with those as before.

2. Online backups are normally only data backups because most folks don't have the bandwidth to do full system backups. That would take forever on a standard high-speed connection.

I use online backup only for critical data files.
