Only colored pixels when trying to clone with Acronis True Image Home 2013

Thread needs solution

My laptop is a Dell XPS15 with a screen resolution of 1920x1080, Windows 8.1 and insydeH20 BIOS. I try to clone my internal WD7500BPVX to an external WD7500BPVX in a USB-drive. Everything goes fine until I have to reboot, press F12 to get to the boot options menue and select the Acronis loader. The loader starts, which is indicated by a readable message, but then only colored pixels appear and the cloning process doesn't work. In a similar topic ((https://forum.acronis.com/forum/43987) the usage of the F11 key is recommended to adjust the resolution but this has no effect. Any ideas what to do ?

2013 does not support 8.1

Best to boot from the TI Recovery before performing a clone.

Target disk inside computer. Source disk elsewhere

RSTO,
Greetings, There is a recommend procedure for cloning, which involves moving the target drive into the place where the source disk originally existed. It is not recommended that you clone to an external drive connected via USB. I personally would remove the ASR function/partition from the disk temporarily before attempting to clone.

Beyond this, I would like to recommend that you perform a Full Disk Image Back Up and use it to restore or migrate to a new disk, instead of cloning. It is safer and offers greater flexibility for restore/recovery. All of the operation you are trying to perform should be done using a Boot CD. Please ensure you are using the latest build for the version you own. This is available as a FREE download from your acronis user account.

2013 FYI:
Relating to your hardware and OS
The recommended screen resolution is 1280 x 1024.
The minimum screen resolution is 1024 x 768.
Early versions of 2013 had compatibility issues with windows 8, so getting the latest build is recommended

It is possible that even the latest build of 2013 won't support your video hardware. Won't know until you try. As an alternative, you can request a free trial of 2015, download a free copy of the BOOT CD .iso and test it with your hardware without purchasing.
