"The operation failed" error message

Thread needs solution

Hi Acronis Community,
While attempting to perform my first full backup using ATI WD Edition 2010, I received a message saying: "Specified file does not exist." with options: 'Browse', 'Retry' and 'Cancel'. I chose 'Browse' and then I located the folder into my WD drive where the image was being created. And so the backup process continued. Once the backup and validation process was completed, I received the following message: "The operation failed".
The weird thing is that after finishing backing-up my hard drive, the "error" of the backup is not displayed in logs, and ATI is able to mount my backup image without any problem/error.

Further info:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Acronis True Image WD Edition 2010 build 14010
My Passport Essential - 500GB WD drive
Backup created in Windows.

Thank you.

Luis,

Assign a fixed drive letter to your backup drive. Revalidate your backup to make sure it is OK. If not, delete it and do another one.

Pat L,
Thank you for replying and I did what you recommended to me to do: Acronis says that the file is corrupted. So, I'm backing my system up again.
