Outlook 2003, Win 7 64-bit, True Image, Build 6574, Slow to No Backup compared to earlier build

Documents back up fine and quickly. But Outlook 2003 either will not back up or does it so slowly that it's not worth the trouble. I bypassed this problem on an earlier build by unchecking the Validation option on the setup, but this trick longer works with 6574. I wish the upgrade had not been proposed to me as a customer service followup. How can something so common and so basic be so screwed up by a major program well into multiple updates? It totally baffles me.
