Override backup naming scheme of appending ---> _full_b1_s1_v1

Thread needs solution

Is there a way to override the new naming scheme of appending to the backup file this ---> _full_b1_s1_v1, _full_b2_s1_v1, etc.

I have the date appended to the backup file name, I don't need this extra info.

Some love it. Others feel the opposite. Either way, the program will add this to all backup files and there is no option to turn it off.:(

It seems clear to me that Acronis forces this because so many of their customers would fiddle with naming and then Restores would fail (and they've put themselves on-the-hook for helping any user, even trial users, with Restores).

I don't like it myself, but I really don't like that their Bootable Media defaults to "incremental" backups instead of "full" and I always have to change that.

It would be fine to make it a "default setting", but not a "forced setting". We should have control over what the file NAME is....sheesh.

Fortunately, you have complete control over where the tib file is stored plus control the first part of the file name.
Unfortunately, you have no control over the suffix added to the end of the file name.

The good part of this is that you can look at the storage folder and see the type of backup created and whether all are present or if missing.....
