This is a planning question - proper guidance is appreciated

Thread needs solution

I am preparing a build using Windows 7 Ultimate, activation of the OS drive, BitLocker encryption, and find the best approach may be to:
1) Create current backup of both system and C: partitions on the current OS drive.
2) Replace my current OS drive with a new higher capacity HDD.
3) Update the new drive with a new system partition size of 1.5GB (currently 100MB) to accomodate BitLocker with the TPM installed.
4) Restore current OS from backup created in step #1 above.

The key question is this:
A) When the restore occurrs, will it fail to recognize the new system partition - OR - attempt to resize it back to the original settings?

Thank you for any guidance on this matter.

For this operation, I would decrypt the disk, so that you can create the backup with decrypted data, restore your partitions separately and resize them as you wish. After your system boots/run successfully on the new disk, you'll turn bitlocker back on.
