I'm a bit concerned about the number of users who have reported having problems with PLUS.

I have just ordered a Barebone replacement for my existing PC (purchased in February 2004) which is beginning to report weird and varying errors on the Windows Event log (Windows 7 32 bit), which I believe to be erroneous, as the PC continues to work well - but until when?

So, before it goes "phut", I have ordered this replacement and will transfer all my disks to it (the disks are all under a year old - 2 * SATA and 1 * PATA). The question now is, do I re-install everything (ignoring any question of changing to 64 bit) or do I try PLUS?

If I use PLUS,
- I will down load it, install it and create a new Acronis Bootable Media;
- I then need to transfer all new drivers to a USB stick (I guess?);
- Carry out a final TIH 2011 partition backup of C: to ASZ: on D:;
- Transfer the disks to the new PC
- Boot from the new Acronis Bootable Media;
- Follow the instructions in Article 13671.

and hope everything works.

Does anybody have any comments or better suggestions/instructions/..... ???

I have used TIH 2011 Plus Pack successfully!!

I made one change to the above. After installing my disks in the new Barebone PC, I installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on C: and made sure everything worked and that all the disks were configured (drive letters) exactly as they were on the old PC, and that I had installed all necessary drivers, before attempting to recover the old Windows 7 build to the new PC using Acronis Bootable Rescue with Plus Pack.

This turned out to be a good thing. The new PC had no IDE adaptor on the motherboard so I had to use an Ultra IDE PCI card for the one PATA drive I still wanted to use. It took me a long time to get this working and it was only when I realised that the Old PC needed the drive to have its jumpers set to Master in order for it to work and that the new PC would want them set to Slave.

Once everything was working I booted from the Rescue Disk. It worked first time!!! It didn't quite manage to keep all the drivers I had installed earlier, but the new PC booted first time and it didn't take long to re-install the over-written drivers.

The only problem I was left with was having to reregister the PC with iTunes.

Well done Acronis. Some things do work!
