Ports for QoS
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what ports Acronis True Image 2013 uses when backing up to a remote network location (in my case, my laptop and desktop backup to a harddrive connected to my router). That is, what ports it uses to transfer the the large quantities of data necessary for the backup. I would like to setup the relevant rules in the QoS system on my router.
The backup I am currently running on my desktop is using port 49549 and my laptop is using port 1502. Is the port random or is there a set/range of ports? If it is random, does someone have an alternative means to achieve the same ends?
Sorry if this has been asked before. I used both the forum's search function and Google to no avail.
Thanks!

Well that is unfortunate. However, thank you for the response.

That took a second to sink in.
So if I setup my network harddrive with FTP access (a capability I believe my router has) and instruct Acronis to backup via FTP, Acronis will use the standard FTP ports: port 21 for the command port and port 20 for the data port?

Yes that is correct, however there have been reports that some people find imaging is slower using FTP. I haven't tried it myself, so cannot comment on that aspect.

FWIW I tried it and Acronis does use port 21 for the command port, but appears to use a random port (not port 20) as the data port. Therefore I can't get QoS rules to apply... too bad. Thanks anyways.
