In Praise of Acronis

Thread needs solution

This is a quick note of thanks to this Forum and also to Acronis.

I am a PC novice. I was scared of going further with back-up for fear of losing everything. But with advice from members of this Forum I took the plunge and saved data and then cloned successfully.

And it was SO easy. For a novice it worked - it saved me from a major broadcast issue (my PCs are part of a radio station) and I am grateful that the software appeared to be so intuitive and simple. Even for me!

I do have a small issue though - I think I may have gone a step too far and I need to erase a back-up file that sucked up quite a bit of HDD space. But where is it? Only clue I can offer is that it reduced down the drive to about half its size. I'd like to earse this file and get more disc space back.

Any help welcome. And for the record I have no involvement with Acronis. I'm just happy and relieved it worked!

Hello Max,

Thank you very much for your post and your feedback. I will definitely help you with this.

We can try looking for the backup file the following ways:

1. From Acronis True Image 2010 Recovery tab, you can use the main program interface to browse for backup files. Please check page 35 of our user guide for additional information.

2. The search toolbar is present in any Acronis True Image 2010 Home interface window, if you recall the name you gave to your backup file, the search will be much faster. The toolbar is located in the top right corner.

3. You can try Windows search and look for files with .tib extension, this extension is used by Acronis for its backup files. You can check this article for instructions.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

Thank you.
