Prevent MBR error after defrag

Thread needs solution

I use ATI home 2011 (build 6942), I tried to activated Acronis startup recovery manager and it works properly. But after a disk defrag (with iobit smartdefrag), I get an MBR error on boot.
What are files or folders used by Acronis startup recovery manager in ATI 2011?
I think to exclude them from defragmentation to prevent MBR error.

Are you running the Boot Time defragmentation option in Smart Defrag? If so, this may be causing the issue.
I would suggest that you disable the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager before using any boot time utilities, and re-enable it afterwards.

If you still have the MBR errors after disabling the Startup Recovery Manager and then running IObit Smart Defrag, you would need to contact IObit for additional support.

Personally, I don't use Startup Recovery Manager, and only use the bootable Acronis Rescue Media to perform the same operations as the Startup Recovery Manager provides.

Additionally, if you have Smart Defrag working automatically, if you perform disk/partition image backups using incremental or differential methods, the files will be larger than need be because of all constant changes to the disk structure that Smart Defrag makes in automatic mode.

I think that you just need to whitelist Acronis on Iobit 's end and this should do the trick here, hopefully.
