prevent restoration of deleted folders holding back-ups

For latest version of TI 2015
I only manually create full back-ups of my C drive OS and programs, and manually delete them when I no longer want them. I always first use the console to remove back-ups and their history. Is there any way of stopping the software from restoring these now empty titled folders that I previously deleted? I can use the boot media to create back-ups and avoid the folder issue, but that's a pain. I figured out how to do it with TI 2013 by deleting the archives and mounted folders that are stored in the database folder, but it seems that's no longer possible. Can't use TI 2013 with Windows 10.

Thanks. I must have missed that reply and it's similar to what I do with TI 2013. I'll give it a try.

Tried it and had warnings and troubles so enough for today. Thanks anyway. And apparently I stopped getting email notices that someone replied, even though "notify me when new comments are posted" is checked. Probably explains why I missed your reply in the past. Email works, and also allows me to logon to the forum with it as the logon name.

Jacob, when you run a validation, it will post an error message for each / every missing / deleted backup file recorded in the database, so you should take the Ignore option for each message.
For the email notifications, some ISP's including Gmail sometimes regard these forum update messages as being bulk mail and block them, especially when there is a lot of forum activity. I had to change my email address to a different provider when I hit a similar situation where I wasn't seeing any update notices for posts I knew had been updated.

Thanks. I did get an email notice from your very last reply above, but not one for the very first one you sent today, after I posted my questions. Although I didn't observe any box to check after posting questions about wanting email notices, or checking the box to get email notifications, like is there at the bottom of this forum window right now. Capture attached for reply window. As to the warnings, it stated something about a script error and IGNORE was not an option. That said, I reinstalled my Win 7 image which has TI 2013, and don't feel like bothering with my Win 10 image which has TI 2015 on it. I learned from you in the past, but forgot, that I can't use TI 2016, which I also own, because my system cannot handle the required minimum screen resolution. Actually not a big deal since I might be happy with 2015. I appreciate simplicity and it just seems that software in general, like windows 10 especially, gets more complicated over time.

Jacob, glad to hear that you have been able to recover your Windows 7 image and have TI 2013 to use there.
The only positive I can offer about Windows 10, is that once you have activated it on your computer then you can always reinstall it again in the future if you want to do so, as Windows 10 activation is keyed to your computer hardware signature. Understand about the complexity with new versions of software though we often see the opposite complaint in these forums about ATI where users say it has been dumbed down too much with the new interface for the GUI and removal of the Log viewer in the GUI etc.

Answering my own question after some more experiemnting with TI 2015, so far it appears that with either Windwos 7 or 10, that after removing a back-up from the list using the TI console, that subsequently manually deleted folders using Windows, are not replaced by the TI software. This was a problem with TI 2013. I'll make another post in the future if I encounter something different as time passes.

Jacob, when you remove a backup from the list in the ATIH GUI it also updates the database to remove all references to that task including folders used, file names etc. Removing backup files outside of the GUI leaves data behind in the database unless you do a validation.

Steve,
Thanks for your reply. I think I have things sorted out now.
