Previous backup generations created in single version scheme in TIH 2011 are not deleted

Thread needs solution

Hello,
Recently I've installed trial version of TIH 2011on top of TIH 2010 in order to evaluate and decide whether to upgrade or not.
One of my scheduled tasks is a daily backup of "Documents and Settings" folder. The details of the task can be seen in the attached screen capture "daily task".
The scheme is "Single Version" so there should be only one copy of the backup (previous copy should be deleted), but this is not the case: as can be seen from the screen capture of the folder of the backup files ("generations" attachment), the version of August 31 was not deleted even though September 1 version was created and the task was completed.
Previous generations created by this task were deleted manually.
This task (as well as other tasks) worked smoothly in TIH 2010.
Did I miss anything?
I apologize if this subject has already been discussed and answered, but I couldn't find this subject in other posts.
Regards,
Jacob

For experimentation purpsoes, make a new task for My Documents and see if that works as advertised. There might be some incompatibility between the importing of 2010 tasks and 2011 running them.

Thank you, Colin, for your suggestion but that's the first thing I did.
When I saw the task behaving as it does, I've deleted it from the scheduled task list and recreated it.
The definitions appearing in the screen capture are those of the re-created task.

Remove the hyphen in the backup name, I vaguely recall it being reported in the beta that hyphens caused problems - but I could be mistaken.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your comments.

Colin, your assistance is most appreciated.

Jacob,

Please let me assist you. Most likely this issue is caused by a malfunction in the backup scripts or their database. Please check this post and perform only the first step. Re-create the backup task and check if the issue persists.

If it does, please contact our support team with this report and let them know that you have performed the above step. I am confident that we will be able to resolve this issue.

If you need additional help, please let me know.

Thank you.

Thank you both, Colin and Anton, for your assistance.
I'll follow your instructions, Anton, and will post here the results.
What I've done so far is the following and there are some issues I'd like to have resolve:
- I've uninstalled TIH 2011 and used Acronis cleanup tool to clean leftovers.
- Tried to re-install TIH 2010 only to find out that my key is no longer valid, although I've downloaded it from "my account" on Acronis website (how do I resolve this in case I decided to wait with the upgrade?)
- Re-installed TIH 2011 and will follow Anton's instructions.
I really would like to know the answer to the issue of invalid registration key, Anton.
Regards,
Jacob

Jacob,

Attempt to install TI 2010, when you see the install menu screen (the one that says install and manual) right click and select 'extract'. Then run the attached batch file form the folder that the MSI installer is .

Post the log file here, but look through it first and remove your email address and 2010 or 2011 serial number if they appear in the log.

There is probably still a registry entry that needs to be removed. The log file will confirm or deny that theory and will contain (or not) the registry key that needs to be deleted.

OK, couldn't be bothered to change the BAT to txt to upload, so here is the file contents.

msiexec /i AcronisTrueImage.msi /l*v "ATIH2011_5105_MSILog.log"

Make a new text file save it with any name you want in the correct folder and make sure you add either a BAT or CMD ending instead of txt.

You can also run the msiexec command from the RUN option off the start button just copy and paste.

Thanks again, Colin, for your assistance and patience.
The installation of TIH 2010 will have to wait until I finish with the 2011 experience...
I've re-created the daily scheduled task (left the dash character, though, in order to eliminate possible causes one-by-one) and will wait 2 days to see if the issue persists.
Depending on the outcome I'll tackle the 2010 issue (which, as things look now, is a realistic option judging from all the hassle concerning the 2011).
Regards,
Jacob

Hello all,

Anton:

The issue persist (i.e. new generation without deleting previous) do I run the info gathering utility while TIH is installed?

Another issue is: the contact link you supply offer no way to send the ZIP file containing the gathered information. Can you be more specific as to where or whom to send this file to?

Please don't refer me to this page again... I can post the file here, if needed.

Colin:

I've used the command you've described ant tried to re-install TIH 2010 after un-installing TIH 2011 and cleaning leftovers (with Acronis' utility) but again received the "invalid key" notification (see attached screen capture "serial-error").

I'm attaching the log file (after removing sensitive info)

I've read some other posts and it look like the issue of re-installing previous version of TIH and getting "invalid key" message is a general problem...
