Problem creating a disc image in Window7 using True Image 11 Home

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I've searched this forum for previous posts on this issue but none seem relevant. I wonder whether any of you can help?

I have tried to create a backup of my "C" drive using the disk image utility but I get this message..

E00640068 FAILED TO CREATE THE SCHEDULED TASK
Filed to create the scheduled task. Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable (0xFF0)".

When I first installed Windows 7 I successfully created a backup and the only thing I have installed since then apart from MS office 2007 and some games is windows updates.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have attached my system info if that helps.

Many thanks,

Ben.

If anyone is interested I have fixed my problem....

FAILED TO CREATE THE SCHEDULED TASK
Filed to create the scheduled task. Error #1722 - "The RPC server is unavailable (0xFF0)".

All I did was uninstall Acronis Home 11, run CCleaner and reinstall. Can now complete a disk image without any problems. I suspect a Windows 7 update to be the culprit.

Hello Ben,

Thank you very much for sharing your solution. I'm glad that you resolved the issue by reinstalling the product.

Anyway, let me comment this situation:

It's related to scheduler service which has stopped for some reason. So we can just restart it to make the product work again. Here are the exact instructions:

  • Make sure that Acronis Scheduler2 Service is Started and the Startup type is set to Automatic:
    • Click Start -> Run and type in services.msc;
    • In the Services window locate Acronis Scheduler2 Service;
    • Right-click on the service and select Properties in the pop-up menu;
    • In the invoked window set the Startup type to Automatic. Click OK;
    • Right-click on the service again and select Start in the pop-up menu.
  • If this does not help, please download Acronis Scheduler, which is a special utility to update the scheduler service, extract it and run install.bat. The utility will automatically update the service.

We have the special article for this issue and its solution.

Anyway, please let me know if something is not clear for you, I would be glad to help.

Thank you.
