problem with post backup external batch "command"

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I use without problem TI 2009 version, and after backup it run a .bat with some operations regardins rename of file, clearing of old file, ....

I see with new 2010 version that external batch does not work...

I know with new version it is possible to assign variable name to the backup-file (@date, @time, ...) but I have a organizations of file/dir by batch file.

BTW: the botton "test" of external post batch in acronis program... is good.

Log reports correctly the execution of the batch but it never runs (see below last row of log file).

Any advice?
Thansk

My post task ".bat" file works without issue. so take heart in that the feature does work.
my first suggestion is to create a 1 line bat file that appends records into a text
this will give you a sysout trace of what happend when called.
anything along the lines of this. try and get that to work and build from there.

::test.bat
echo this is test.bat I have started at %time%>> c:\z.txt

Hi Oracledba,

I solved! But...

... I think there is a bug of 2010 (5.075) because:

- my batch works perfectly with old version
- if I rename my bat from "MCrename_backup.bat" to "MCren.bat" it works fine!

I try and the long name "MCrename_backup.bat" works fine if I runs manually the scheduled backup and it does not work if I plan it.

Other bug... (I use Italian version):

In "Gestione Attività" (I mean "manage activities"...) pages, after a correct execution of bkp the day lights as "planned" (color blue) and not as "done" (color green)

Se img and log of today (2nd of Dec).

Thanks for all
Bye

pROBLEM NOT SOLVED!!!

Daily backup not runs this batch: h:\_imgGhost\MCrenbk.bat

echo this is test.bat I have started at %date% - %time% >> h:\_testbatchlog.txt

If I run manually the scheduled backup it runs correctly... but if I schedule the bkp, it does not run the batch. The bkp-log reports batch correctly done

The batch works alone correctly.

Advice?

If either folder name or backup file name is longer than 8 characters, you may need to enclosed path in quotation marks. Try changing the _testbatchlog.txt to testlog.txt etc.

If you wish, post the contents of your batch file. Perhaps we can help.

Ok thanks. I planned in my task this follow new batch automatically at 11a.m. It works good:

- new batch in "h:\McBkp\" called MCrenbk.bat
- the one line of MCrenbk.bat is:
- echo this is test I have started at %date% - %time% >> h:\McBkp\testbat.txt
- the contents of testbat.txt after task scheduled at 11 AM is:

"this is test I have started at 08/12/2009 - 11.42.16,84"

(- the backup of task is done without problem)

So it seem to work very good.
... But the all test done last days in same way seem to works good... :(

Now I will schedule this same task with same batch tomorrow at 8 AM. I will post the results tomorrow in the morning...

BYE MC

As I supposed... the same task planned at 8.10AM does not run the batch, the testbat.txt contains only the output of yesterday ("this is test I have started at 08/12/2009 - 11.42.16,84").

So I am sure there is a bug (only Italian version?) in this version of Acronis True Image Home (ver 10, build 5.075).

The bkp is done, but not the post-command batch. The same done (and posted above) yesterday!!

The log reports the batch is done (like in row 16 of img of log attached).

Other bug, about for the color of activities... the task of bkp works good, but the color is still blue and not green (see today box, 9th of Dec)

Bye

Hello all,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Let me help you with the issue.

Inquisitore, the problem may be also caused by the malfunction of Acronis Scheduler, so I may recommend you to update this module and check if it helps.

  1. Download Acronis Scheduler, which is a special utility to update the scheduler service:

  2. Extract the downloaded file and run install.bat. The utility will automatically update the service;

See if the issue is resolved. If it is not, then please proceed with steps 3 and 4:

  3. Reboot the machine;
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

Thank you.
