Problem with True image 11home

Thread needs solution

Hello
I have a small concern for my hard disk with Acronis True Image 11 Home recovery, a window showing "W00040011 please insert media volume 1" blocks this recovery. My research on the web has not been successful, and so I pass on this problem in the hope that you might help, as this recovery is very important!
To set the scene, earlier this year I did a complete backup of my hard drive I have stored it on an external hard disk. In September I made another incremental and again stored it on the same external hard drive. These two images are quite distinct with their respective dates.
My computer then crashed, forcing me to take my September image recovery, but sadly it is was not successful.
So I tried to find the solution starting with testing the external hard drive and its USB port. I therefore restored my first year start backup, and all went well, so I concluded that there are no problems with either the hardware or the USB.
I then repeated this process with the incremental backup from September, and everything is normal up to the level of partitions, but then Acronis locks and a window appears with the message quoted above, but nothing more (no 'try again' or 'Cancel' button). Even the cross closing this window will work, and I am forced to do CTRL-ALT-DEL to close all the programs.
As suggested on the forum, I also tried to validate this backup, but it is still does not work, and in a few minutes the highest cited window comes back.
I have also tried to burn this image directly to a DVD but this did not work.
I thank you in advance, and hope to hear from you soon with any information about a patch or upgrade related to my problem.
Kind regards.

Hello Bares,

No worries, I will help you to resolve this situation.

This error message about "please insert media volume 1" means that the product is not able to check some part of the archive, and most probably the issue is related to corruption. You stated that you were suggested to validate the archive, but were not able to do so.

Please note that corrupted archives could be created because there are some bad sectors or unreadable data on your HDD.

Please perform the following operations:

-Check the disks for errors (this would not resolve the issue with particular backup, but will help you to avoid this from happening in the future).

Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

-Change the backup location (for example save your backup to an internal HDD instead the external), do not forget to copy the entire backup chain (incrementals + full) to the new location.

-The issue can be caused by incorrect access to backup location from Windows, so we should try to perform the operations using Acronis Bootable Media. To create it please follow: Tools -> Create bootable rescue media. Then boot your machine from it and you will be able to use Acronis True Image Home without booting any OS.
Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis True Image Home, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system.

-Also, we would like to make sure that the memory module of your machine is not corrupt as this can be the reason of the issue. This process it time consuming, so I would recommend you to leave it running for a night.

Please download the archive.

Unpack the archive and burn the unpacked ISO file to CD.

We recommend you to refer to the article if you are not familiar with ISO burning.

After that boot your PC from the CD and memtest will start automatically. When it is 100% completed (1 or 2 passes), create a digital photo of the screen and attach it to your answer in this thread.

If none of my suggestions help, could you please let me know the build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)?

Please also collect Acronis Report file, which will help us to analyze the structure of your hard drives. In order to create Acronis Report file, please download Acronis Report utility, run it and create a report. The default name of this file is "report.txt" and it is saved on your desktop.
Please attach the file to your answer in this thread.

I'd like to make sure all your queries regarding Acronis products are resolved.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Regards,

I am having a problem where Acronis True Image Home 2010 Build 7,154 reports it can not find the file specified. See attached documents.

I have the program set up to do 3 incremental back ups and then a fulll back up and to delete the prior full backup. However, it "appears to fail" when creating the full back up and does not delete the prior back up.

If the program is not truly creating a reliable full back up then 3 incrementals then I would be unable to restore my system if it failed.

How can I correct this issue?
