Problems after 2011 update to 6574

Thread needs solution

First, an old seen in 2010 is still around. The desktop icons that are created are flaky. Try to move them to a sub folder on the desktop, and they loose the image changing to a generic. Move them back and they change back. Something screwy going on there because they should not be linked to their location but to the file they start. And it's a real pain to get them to take the icon when moved.

After this update, again I end up with icons on the desktop. Tried to move the main icon and again lost it's image. came back when moved back. But this time, after a reboot, it no longer had it even while on the desktop.

Now the big problems. Try starting Acronis and it sits for a long time at the welcome screen with the spinning loading icon on the right. When it finally did finish loading, I clicked go to main page and it hung while loading that. Closed and tried relanching and it seemed to hang loading at the welcome screen. Checked task manager and I find that TrueImageMonitor.exe*32 is listed twice, once with 5,852k used memory and the other with 1,180k used memory. Restarted windows and it shows the same.

After reboot, starting Acronis it comes right up and it goes to the main screen right away now. But When I try to fix the image for the icon it says I need to "provide administrator permission to change these settings". I never needed it before with any other icons and shouldn't need it.

If you are still getting the hanging when opening TI2011, try switching off the 'Search for Updates' option.
