Problems with create/modify tasks to NAS: Got response from ACRONIS, I am done now with ATI 2012!

Thread needs solution

Hi all that also have problems with creating/editing tastks to NAS,

Today i got respons from ACRONIS. Long story short, answer was:

Its a Synology problem and not an ACRONIS issue. I may update to newest FW of my NAS.......

So all you of Acronis staff: WHY IS MY SYNOLOGY NAS WORKING WITH ATI2011 AND NOT WITH ATI2012!!!??!!!!!
Its not an Synology problem its and ATI2012 problem.......and as many here in the forum know not the only problem of ATI2012.

I Started to try refund my 2012 a few days ago. Back to ATI2011 now.

Hello S22,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Acronis software. I will definitely help you with your question.

We have changed the algorithm of using Windows services for accessing remote resources in the new product version, and, most probably, that caused the issue you are experiencing. The problem has already been localized and forwarded to our Development team. We are already working on them. They will be fixed as soon as possible and the fixes will be included into the nearest update of Acronis True Image Home 2012.

I apologize for any inconvenience and if you need additional assistance please let me know.

Thank you.

Hello hhansard and Michael,

Thank you for your comments.

I completely understand you. The update is currently in production, but still we cannot provide you with the time frames of the release. You can subscribe to our newsletters, and receive a message once the update is out.

Thank you once again for your understanding and patience.

==> in production
typically understood as released.

so the fix is in development, unit test, QC test, beta test? where in the chain?

 Hello Al99,

Thank you for taking time to contact us.

Please describe the encountered issues with the details.

We are awaiting for your response.

Thank you.

@ Oleg & Anton

Sorry I think that is to difficult for me to describe it in English. So I'll try it in German.

Machen Sie endlich Ihre Hausaufgaben!
Danke.

Since I installed the update (build 6131), my card reader strikes, which I Retrieve my SD card.
It recognizes the insertion of the card and also assigns a drive letter (M:), but if I'd like to access the card in Explorer, the following message appears: "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk M: "

That's it. Now I must disable associated device under the USB controller device in the Device-Manager and then activate again.
After that, the card reader works again until the next reboot. Then again, this action is due.
I could only explain this behavior, as I've read about the USB problems of other users after the update.

In addition, it wasn't possible after the update, to include a pre-defined Non-Stop Backup fully the Task List.
It was possible to open it fpr recovery, but I couldn't resume the backup. This is very annoying. I backup my photos and documents (over 500GB) on a NAS. Therefore I had to create a complete new Backup-Job that lasts hours. That's is unfortunate.

One set on the edge. Are we beta tester for Acronis? I use Acronis since version 7 and had many versions in use, but never have had such difficulties.
I think it shouldn't give such immens difficulties in a paid version.
Thank you. Hope that the next release will fix those issues.

We are aware of the issue you have reported. Our developers are working on it, I hope the fix will be available soon. We should test the drivers responsible for this behavior, then we will create an article in our Knowledge base to make these drivers available.

You may insert your card to the card reader prior to the OS boot, in that case you will be able to get the access to the card content.

The issue should be localized. Have you installed build 6131 over the  previous build (or version), or have you installed it from the scratch?

If I insert the SD-Card before booting, the computer won't start.

First I tried to update the old version, but it failed. Then I downloaded the Uninstall-Tool (ATIH_CleanUp_2012) from your website, after a restart I used the freeware ccleaner to eliminat old registry settungs and than I did a clean installation of Build 6131. That worked, but only with known issues!

Hello AL99,

Thank you ffor your response.

Please check your BIOS settings, the boot setting, probably, something like "Boot from USB device" is enabled.

I understand now why this have happened. You have removed the NSB database, that's why the task can't be retrieved. In that case the recovery is available only.

Thank you.

Hello Oleg,

Before I tried to update my old version of AT 2012 I exported my back-up settings under "Tools & Utilities".
The import of these saved settings should bring back all backups again - or am I wrong.

If a export doesn't work, you had to inform the user that some back-up settings are excluded from the export eg NonStopBackup.
Or, remove this feature altogether. I thought that all may settings are save!
