Problems Creating A Direct-to-DVD Backup In The Bootable Media

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I recently purchased a copy of Acronis True Image 2013, and I'm having the same problem as seen in an earlier post here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/35444

I have a basic workstation (Intel DH61CR MB, i3-2120, 4GB of RAM, 1 500GB SATA HDD and a SATA DVD drive, nothing fancy) I'm making a backup of for a home user.
I boot the workstation into the media and do a backup straight to a DVD.
The total backup size is about 9GB, so I figure a couple dual layer DVDs isn't that big of a deal. I've done this before in the 2012 version just fine.
Much to my surprise, I keep seeing the error like in the previous post linked above that "The Disk Is Full" no matter which media I use.
I've used: Verbatim Dual Layer DVD+R, RiDATA Dual Layer DVD+R, and regular RiDATA DVD+R. Tried a Verbatim CD-R like in the post above, and that actually started the process, but like the previous poster said, having a bunch of CD-Rs just isn't practical.

I tried the retail media (Build 5020) and an updated media (Build 5551) with the same result.
I haven't opened up a support ticket yet, as I thought to check here first.

Any suggestions?

As far as I can tell, this issue remains unresolved. You should open a support ticket with Acronis.
The more support tickets they have about this issue, the faster it will be resolved.

As an alternative, you could create the backup to an external USB drive or flash drive, and have Acronis split the backup files in to 4GB slices, and then burn the files to DVD/s. This will get you same results, but you will not be able to make the media bootable.
