Problems Restoring a Split Backup Archive Created in True Image 2014

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm having problems restoring a system image from a set of DVDs I created from a split backup archive made in True Image 2014. I used the backup splitting feature to split my image of Windows 7 into 5 separate 4GB archives, each of which I then proceeded to burn to individual DVD-R discs using ImgBurn. The discs burned without a hitch and were each verified after the writing process. However, when I attempt to restore the backup after booting from the True Image recovery disc, I run into a problem. Here's what happens:

I click 'Recover - My Disks' and insert the disc containing the last archive version (v.5) into the disc drive (it appears the final archive version is required first in order to restore the backup). After clicking 'Recover entire disks and partitions', and selecting the partitions I wish to recover (in this case, all of them), I am presented with a message saying "Cannot find version 1 - You may have moved or deleted it. Please click Browse and specify its location, or ignore this message". So I insert the disc containing version 1, click Browse, and open the archive, only this time I'm told "Cannot find version 5 - You may have moved or deleted it. Please click Browse and specify its location, or ignore this message". Re-inserting version 5 only prompts me to insert version 1 again and vice versa. This continues back and forth in a continuous loop and I can't proceed any further.

Initially I thought it may have been a corrupted backup, so I verified the original backup files saved to my internal storage drive, but no issues were found. I also created a new set of discs, this time using a different brand of DVD-R just to be sure it wasn't the media I was using, but the problem still persists.

Has anybody on here ever successfully restored a system image made from a split backup archive that has been burned to disc(s) using a separate program, and if so, can you advise me on what I may be doing wrong? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

- Chris

You would probably succeed in your restore if you were to copy all the *.tib files into a siingle folder on some other external or internal disk and then perform the restore when booted from the TI Recovery CD.
