Problems with TI 2010 Home Std

Thread needs solution

I just purchased and installed this product upgrade from TI 2009. I immediately erncountered a severe problem. I started a backup; the scheduling screen immediately opened and could not be closed or minimized. The status screen that opened to show progress, worked OK but it was drastically different as to percent complete for the task than what was shown on the scheduling screen. Furthermore, when I minimized the status dialog, instead of just reducing to the taskbar, it reduced to a sort of subscreen that could not be re-expanded, closed, or moved. The scheduling screen then became frozen as far as it could also not be closed, minimized to the taskbar, or maximized, or returned to partial screen if it was maximized. None of the controls on the screen function correctly.

The window title bar has some weird kind of weird font that gets "blotted out" partly simply by running the cursor over it. If the screen is maximized while the backup is in progress, you cannot access any of the Windows taskbar or start menu, they simply disappear.

I am running WinXP Pro SP 3, had been running TI 2009 for years with no problems. If these problems are not fixed by this time tomorrow through this forum, I am going to cancel my purchase of this version and return to the prior version, so I hope someone in TI support is paying attention. Since Acronis no longer backs new purchases with warranty support periods at no charge, I see no point in keeping the new product with its problems.

Hello Peter,

Thank you for using  Acronis True Image

In order to solve the issue I would recommend you reinstall Acronis Scheduler using the following KB article. In case the issue persists please provide us the following diagnostic information. Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us? Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.

This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

OK I will do all that, but please reassure me that you understand my problem is occurring with the install of my upgrade to TI 2010 from TI 2009, which is not one of the products listed in the KB article.

In any case, I will do all you suggest and send the info to you. I hope we can resolve the issues because I like several of the new features in TI 2010, but I cannot use the product if it freezes up my display as I described and will not minimize or allow any interaction, because that means I cannot use my desktop at all during the time the backup task is running.

I will send you the information.
