Program repeated Crashing / Setting up network backup location

Thread needs solution

1) I navigate to "Other backups"
2) Select "file backup"
3) Choose a Network > Homegroup location (another laptop computer on the home network)
4) Select the backup location (already loaded as the default)
5) Select "Backup Now" and the program crashes with the following details:

This happens repeatedly, and I have not been able to Save this backup job or to start the backup.

Similar problem here. Since nobody at Acronis seems to answer (resolve) forum posts AND I'm past my 30 day support window, I might have to shell out $9.95 for Acronis to look into it.

If anybody can add insight, please do.

I can copy the files to a local directory via Windows Explorer without issue.
