Before purchase: ATIH 2015 (Trial) & Synology DS413 + 2 questions

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone!

I'm a French user of ATIH so please be good with my English ;-)

I have just downloaded ATIH 2015 in the way to test it before buy it. I want to make some backups directly on my NAS Synology DS413.

BUT, Acronis doesn't see my NAS in the explorer menu (see the image attached). How can I make it appear? Or maybe it's a restriction of the trial version?

And 2 smalls questions:

1. Is there a way to have a full setup of the program instead of the boring and incredibly slow installer?
2. Can I choose where I want to install Acronis? The default installer has no option at all :-(

Thanks for your support ;-)

Thibault

I use Acronis with a Synology NAS. You need to access your NAS through the Windows network, not under "NAS Connections", or through an FTP connection. I recommend Windows SMB/CIFS shares.

Hi and thanks for your answer ;-)

Do you know why under "NAS Connections" there's nothing?

I know that I can reach my NAS by different ways but it seems to me strange to can't access it through its dedicated way...

The "native NAS" support of ATI is very limited, and would get you in trouble during recovery. You can look up NDAS protocal if you want. There is nothing wrong or diminished by accessing through the Windows CIFS/SMB share, there is nothing "dedicated" to the the NAS connection. Just different protocol requirements.

OK great... I'll use an address like \\192.168.0.100\backups instead. Hope the backup will work if I need it...

And concerning my 2 others questions?

1. Is there a way to have a full setup of the program instead of the boring and incredibly slow installer?
2. Can I choose where I want to install Acronis? The default installer has no option at all :-(
