Purging of Archive files - True Image Server 9.1

Thread needs solution

How does one start the image process over again when doing incrementals? I now have hundreds of incremental files on my system and am not sure if should simply delete them all off... In Norton Ghost ( a horrible product) you can set the time period of when an incremental starts a new "base" image... I cannot find that option in TrueImage 9.1. Is there any better way to manage incremental file longevity?

Hello Alan,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

According to our database, you are using Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows.

The most reliable solution in that case is to create a new chain of the archives. After that you can remove all previous backup files (if you don't need the information stored in these files)

To set the desired policy you should use a batch file. We have created several files for these purposes. The target location, amount of backups and amount of backup sets that you want to keep are specified by providing the corresponding parameters.

The entire description on how to set the policy and the examples of the batch files are available here.

Please pay attention to the following guides:

Batch file for managing backup sets saved to a network share with password protection

Batch file for managing backup sets saved to a network share without password protection

Batch file for managing backup sets saved locally

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

I downloaded Batch file, installed have set up to run. It tested out OK, so anticipate success. Thank you and I will advise if any anomolies...
