Quick Activation question - Boxed product

If while I wait for my boxed product to be delivered, can I use the demo, and then enter the serial I get after registering with my boxed product, to activate the trial version? I would prefer to not have to uninstall the trial. If this is not possible I will just wait until the product arrives (may be a week).

I assume you're using TI 2011. You can activate the trial version using the serial number. See this KB article.

Yes, TI2011 home. I can activate even using a serial number from the boxed version right (after I register)? Thanks!
