Quick way to start a prepared task

Thread needs solution

Hello!

Let me begin with some information. I do use TI 11 (Build 8.0.1.0) in Win XP Pro and I only use the Tool itself, no Try-And-Decide, no scheduler. All auto-start elements, all services except Scheduler2 were stopped.
In other words, I only use TI on demand. Maybe al critical installations or lovely convinced by MS’ PatchDay. But it needs a lot of clicks to get the job done. The Determent of scheduling prevented me to plan any tasks a long time. But for curiosity, I created one and was satisfied with the result I got (as a note, at simple batch file helps me to organise the created backup archive).

My problem is to get that task started. Yes, the task save an amount of clicks. But I dream of something like a command line usage or a launch of the GUI quite directly to the tasks list. A double click opens the GUI, and relying on my German GIU, I’ve to pick Managing Instruments (you surely know what I’m talking about), Mange Tasks and get my Task.
I’m bored abut not finding “The Tasks” in a menu or the side bar on the left. Of course, three clicks are not much, but is there a way to launch a specified task in an other manor? Just like a command line which will make it possible to get what I really want from a backup tool: a one-click-solution. Not controlled by a calendar, not by an event - right now on demand! (And, guess right, chose one of more prepared tasks.)

Oh, by that way, is there an option to… export or save a task?

Greets,
Markus

Hello Markus,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

You can use the following method.

Please create a text document by means of Notepad. Place the following string inside of it:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeService.exe" /script:"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts\CURRENT SCRIPT.tib.tis"

3. Find the following path at your computer: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts

4. Find the script that you created just now. Copy the appropriate value (for example, B44A95F2-BA29-43C3-9F88-C2F566E5BCC1) and place it into the Notepad document instead of "CURRENT SCRIPT".

5. Save the file to your desktop and rename it. The file should have .bat extension.

6. Click on the file and check the functionality of Acronis software.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 has One-Click backup option. I may recommend you download free trial version of the program and test it yourself.

Please note that all your schedule tasks are saved in a file by the following directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts
