I hope that this question wont sound dumb.

My setup:
Acronis True Image Home 2010.
My Win XP PC is scheduled for full backup with backup verification once a month.
Total size : 25 GB
.tib file size = 50MB
.tib avg number of files = 500

Backup is created locally on my PC.
Than I upload my backup files on FTP Server at Go Daddy servers that do support all type of uploads.
I Use 250k link.

The question:
There are 500 files / 50MB files. I created this size with just one reason - easier upload.

- What size do you recommend or you think is safe to avoid any corruption of the files?
- If somehow one or few files are corrupted, will I lose my entire backup?

I would recommend you evaluate the time it takes to upload one of the splits. The general idea would be to have the least amount of splits possible, but still be able to do the uploads fairly easily. What size can you upload in a half hour? In an hour?

As for your last question, if any part of any split gets corrupted or lost, TI will consider the entire backup invalid. It may be possible to "fake" a corrupt or missing split, but any data in that split will be lost. This means that you may be able to recover some of the data, but don't count on it. If either the first or last split are lost, no data will be able to be recovered.

Extremely long chains seem to cause more problems than short ones. This is why I suggest keeping the split size as large as possible. If you have room and the time, you may want to upload each split twice (to different folders). Otherwise, keep one on the FTP and a duplicate on a local drive. Once the upload is complete you should probably download all the splits and make sure that TI can successfully read it.
