Recover from windows 7 image???

LONG STORY SHORT I have an issue winth window 7, my drive is currently blank. I tried to use windows 7 to restore a image made by windows 7. No luck, I have a acronis 2010 dvd, can I recover the windows 7 image that is on a differnet drive with acronis as the start up disc???
