Recovery - catch 22?

Thread needs solution

Looking through 'Help' topic 'Preparing for recovery' I found the statement, "Boot from the rescue media and validate the backup you want to use for recovery. This is necessary because, when a backup is validated in the recovery environment, the program sometimes declares it corrupted though it has been successfully validated in Windows. This may be due to the fact that Acronis True Image 2014 uses different device drivers in Windows and in the recovery environment. If Acronis True Image 2014 considers the backup corrupted, it will not proceed with recovery."

So; lets assume my backup, which validated ok in Windows, fails to validate when my system needs restoring. Why is there no help to resolve the issue: "If Acronis True Image 2014 considers the backup corrupted, it will not proceed with recovery."

As far as I can see, you are left hanging with no support and no working computer. Is this the case and if so, what can be done about it other than migrating to a backup system that works when you really need it?

True image 2014 won't recover. All goes well thru validation. then it restarts. then it does nothing new. Windows 8 appears on the restart as if I ha\dn't run tru image at all. What gives? Previous versions have always worked well, prior to win 8.

@ dam,

I had the same issue until I recognized, that I didn´t shutdown Windows8.1 completely before restoring the backup. Windows 8 does not really shutdown when you use the normal switch off button. I then had icons on my desktop from programs, that were not installed when I made the backup files. When you completely shutdown Windows 8 by pressing shift key + click on shutdown (or another appropriate procedure - see Google Windows 8 shutdown) before you restore your backup, the described effect will not show up.
