recovery issue
i use for many years true image to save my systempartitions
as always i use the latest version of true image
it happens that when I recover a image of a system partition to a brand new harddisk
this new harddisk is not able to start up windows an hangs with a blinking white cursor
in the upper left corner of the screen
but if i recover this image to the original harddisk, it works
if i use sector by sector images.. i not have this problem
what i can do that non sector by sector images can recover a new harddisk and launch windows...

when i start true image to restore a systempartition i get a screen where i can choose what i want to restore
X Drive-C (name of my systempatition)
or
X MBR
here i can only choose one option. so i always make a cross with Drive-C
(if i cross MBR, the cross with Drive-C will be taken away) so i newer understood in what situation you cross MBR....

I don't have 2011 but in previous versions you selected one first, for example, the MBR and then later in the restore wizard it asks you if you want to restore another partition. Say yes and it will take you back to select the second one, in this example C. When you have done this then when it asks if you want to restore another partition say no and it will then proceed to do the restore. Make sure that the C partition will be set as the active partition.
Like I say I don't have 2011 but see if this is the case.

Typically, the information is presented the following way: there is a box that can be checked for the disk, and below the disk there is an indented list of partitions on the disk that can be checked, finishing by MBR + track0 (which can be checked).
See picture attached.
Is this what you see? Are you positive you cannot select the entire disk?

its true, sometimes it shows the whole HD to check as its shown in your pic
and like this it works
but many times it does only show the the drive-c and the mbr...
and then I can only choose either drive-c or mbr
i dont no why its sometimes like this... is this because of some settings when i create the image....??

Is it possible that some of your backups don't include one of the partitions on the disk and some other backups do?
The best backup to have is one that include all partitions of a disk.
I'm thinking that perhaps my post is wrong although it won't do you any harm to try it. My idea has more to do with image creation than restoring. Sorry if I misled you.
Try restoring the MBR as a separate session and C as another session. It sounds like the MBR is not being written to the new drive.

i tried this
first mbr then the partition
and then it gets a space problem..... abort
if i choose only mbr the restoring process works
if i choose the systempartition it works... the restoring process works as well
but i cant launch windows after hanging blinking cursor on black screen
the question is, why sometimes i can choose the hole disk to restore as shown in the picture above
and then everything works
and sometimes i can only choose either partion or mbr....
