Recovery Problem
My C drive is a partition on my HDD #1. I made a backup and performed a restore to the same partition of the drive. I used the rescue media for the restore. No problem ! !
I then unplugged drive #1 and installed a previously used 1tb drive in the machine on a different port of same controller. I booted the Rescue Media as before. I went through the screens selecting the backup, specifying recover disc and partitions, selected C_Drive and System partitions to restore Then I selected the destination drive and set the partition size to the same as the original (200gb). I clicked Next and went to 'Setup of Partition C which showed the drive and partition size as unspecified. I couldn't find a way past this point.
I retried this several times. I made a second boot media, the first was a CD the second was a Flash Stick.
This is all done with the latest build 6613.
What am I missing. This should be an easy task.

I have just recovered a HDD after having many problems with a Windows 10 issue (looped between automatic disk repair and diagnosing the computer). So I reformatted the HDD and installed A new version of Win10 Pro on it. Then I used my boot disc from Acronis True image 15. I recovered the whole HDD from an April 1 fulll backup and everything worked fine. It is on an external USB HDD.
Now as I am trying to recover from the incrementals from the external USB HDD, they keep failing. After the most recent failure I tried to boot windows and got a message that the MBR was corrupt. So I went back and recovered the MBR and Recovery partitions to my HDD which seemed to succeed. However, I am back in the mode of having to restore the whole system because Win 10 is corrupt again. Windows goes into the loop of attempting repairs and never finishes.
Now I am trying to get back to my restores from April to now.
It seems every time I recover an incremental it fails and I have to start all over. So I am in the process of restoring the hole system from April 1. Then when I try to restore the incrementals should I just restore the C: and D: drives and leave the MBR and Recovery partitions alone? That seems like it might leave the MBR alone and not corrupt it but then the pointers will be incorrect.
Any suggestions?

Regis, welcome to these user forums.
There should be no need to restore the MBR or Recovery partitions from your incremental backups if the system is working OK - there are unlikely to be any changes to these components unless you have performed an OS upgrade in the period between the full backup and the incremental.
You could also just restore your C: and D: drives separately providing that there are no dependencies between the two, i.e. you have programs or applications installed on D: with Registry information written on C:.
