Recovery Problems

Thread needs solution

I carry out a Daily incremental Backup. Eventually I received a error message stating that I had run out of Disk Space. To overcome this I deleted earlier FULL and Incremental Backups leaving the last 1 Full Backup and Incremental Backups associated with the FULL Backup and continued with my Daily Backups.
Today I have tried to do a RESTORE but get Error Message stating unable to locate VER 6 which I select Ignore and then the same applies for VER 5, VER 4 and lastly VER 1. When I point to where my last verified Backup is located I go through the same. What have I done wrong to cause this problem.

Such behavior is generally the result of deleting backups using Windows File Explorer rather than the TI application itself. You might try resetting the backup database to see if that will clear the error messages.

To do that use Windows file explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database\archives.xml, rename archives.xml to archives.old, reboot your machine.

This will force the TI application to recreate the backup database which should remove the pointers to the backups you previously deleted.

In the future when deleting backups do so from within the application so as to avoid such issues.

Thank you very much for that info. Everything functioning as normal. You are a Champ:))
