Recovery worked once but not again - error 1962: no operating system found

Thread needs solution

I installed WIN10 on my Leveno desktop, backed it up using ATI2014 rescue media and was able to recovery using the rescue media.

I proceeded to install WIN7 on same Leveno, backed it up with ATI2014 rescue media and was able to recover as well

Wanted to go back to WIN10 but now recovery using ATI2014 gives me error 1962: no operating system found.   The error support says that drivers are missing and to use Universal Restore Media.   Since I was able to recover once from this tib file, this seems unlikely.  Tried with another tib  file, same error 1962.

I know ATI2014 is not designed for WIN10.    Perhaps I should try creating ATI2018 rescue media, and try that.   What do you think ?    The rescue media for each year ATI2014, ATI2017, etc. seems identical.

I do have ATI2014 Premium, so I could try Universal Restore and add drivers from Leveno.

Strange that the same .tib image files have each worked correctly to allow full recovery one time but are failing when tried again.

Given that the key change inbetween recovery working and failing is downgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 7, where you have done what sounds in effect to have been a clean install of each OS, then this may be a case that installing Windows 7 has changed something that is causing the failure.

I am making some assumptions here that each of your Windows 10 and 7 backups are full disk backups, i.e. each includes all hidden/system/required partitions on the OS drive?

If so, then can you fully erase the target HDD (or SSD) drive before attempting to do the recovery of the Windows 10 .tib image, or do you have a spare, blank/raw drive that you could use for the recovery?

Another assumption here is that you are doing all of these recovery attempts using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media and not attempting this by launching the ATI 2014 application from within Windows.

The differences between your ATI 2013, 2014 and the 2018 rescue media should be minor other than the key change in 2018 which now defaults to creating Windows RE based media whereas all versions to 2017 default to creating a Linux based media.
