Removing Backup Sets

Thread needs solution

How do I stop Acronis from backing up? I have removed my backup from the main Acronis programme plus I have removed the backed up data from the external drive but every time I switch on the computer Acronis backs up my entire computer to the external drive. Where is the delete backup set button? How do I stop it from wandering off with a mind of it's own?

If you do not have any other backup tasks created in the application other than the one you are having issue with you could remove the script file that runs the task from True Image Scripts folder. The location of this folder can vary depending on OS version/installation.

A common possible location is C:\Programdata\Acrons\TrueImageHome\Scripts. Navigate to the scripts folder and delete it's contents. If you have other tasks created that you do not want to eliminate this will not work as deletion of the script files will clear all created tasks.

The issue you describe is most often caused by the user deleting backups using Windows Explorer. To avoid this issue only delete backups and backup tasks from within the Acronis True Image application. This will prevent the application from becoming confused when running backup tasks.
