Rescue Disk does not work and F11 does not work

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis on two on my computers ( a brand new XPREDATORX! with Windows 8.1 fully patched and on a three year old computer with Windows 7 Professional fully patched). I cannot boot either computer from an Acronis Rescue Disk, and neither computer responds to F11 while booting even though F11 has been enabled on both computers. What has happened to this software I once loved?

I have a laptop but wouldn't dare think of installing Acronis 2015 on it.

At any rate, can my problems be solved and if so, how?

Did a previous version of TI boot your PCs?

When you say it can't boot, what does or does not happen?

Is the new PC UEFI booting based or by BIOS?

When it doesn't boot, what I mean is that the computer does not read the CD and boots directly into Windows, bypassing the Acronis Rescue Disk. And when I say it doesn't boot, what I mean is that when I press F11, it ignores F11 and boot directly into Windows.

I have no idea what UEFI means, so I l do not know if the new PC is booting based or by BIOS. So what about the old computer running Windows 7.

Neither of my computers read the Rescue Disk or respond to F11.

If Acronis 2015 doesn't work on either one of my computers, I assume something is wrong with Acronis 2015 and wonder why a piece of software would be released with so many flaws?

Hey man, I'm not angry with you. I know you're trying to help, and I appreciate it. I'm angry because I have one computer that will not run period because I can't restore it for lack of a rescue disk or a functional F11 and another one that I may not be able to restore if I need to.

I suspect the reasons for the recovery media not booting is not the same for both PCs.

I suspect your new PC does have UEFI firmware.

For both PC's make sure that they are set to boot from CD before harddrive and that the priority is higher than the hard drive. You may or maybot have a priority option on your older PC, there will almost certainly be that option on your new laptop.

For the older PC that might be all you need to do to get the CD recognised.

For the new laptop, you will also need to disable Secure Boot.

Is the DVDROM part of your new laptop or is it an external USB one?

If it is internal hardware, your CD may now just boot (I use USB sticks for the recovery environment as my laptop doesn't have a DVDROM and these require a workaround to get a OEMs UEFI system to boot from a stick).

If you look at the recovery CD in Windows, what do you see listed?
