resize hardrive C&D

Thread needs solution

I have a new ASUS G74S with two HDD. I just cloned the 500GB and replaced with a 750GB drive. I want to resize and increase the c partition (has OS) and decrease the d partition. I tried to do this but the c partition is not an option in the home 11 software. Is there a work around this?

Wayne,

If you restore an image of the 500GB to the 750GB, and restore each partition after the other, you will be able to resize the partitions.

I assume you mean you have 2011, not v11.

If I interpret correctly, you have already done the clone and now you need to adjust the partition size. You may be able to do this within Windows 7 but I personally would not try it. An easier method would be to use a partitioning tool when booted from a partitioning tool CD.
Whatever you do, I would suggest you do a full disk backup as a safety value in case something goes wrong.

What you need to do is to
a. make the d partition smaller by creating free space before the partition.
b. The second step would then be to expand the right side of the C partition into the "free space after" which was created by making D smaller.

This link below is one where I recently helped to use one partitioning tool. After you look this over, ask if you have questions about the procedure.

Question: I have an 8 month old Asus G53JW which I really like. However, I frequently get a nuisance error which appears on the screen saying
:Error: Unable to start the Bluetooth stack service.
I take this as a nuisance as the stack service is already started. Just curious, are you getting such an error?
