Restore only Windows 8.1 from a dual boot two partition archive

Thread needs solution

I have a dual boot system running on two partitions on the same drive. Windows 8.1 is on drive C and Windows 7 is on drive D. I don't use Windows 7 anymore so I want to recover the Windows 8.1 operating system and user files and recover it to the entire hard drive, so that I will only have one partition. I have saved the data I want from the Windows 7 partition, so that is not an issue.

How should I proceed?

If you have the Windows 8.1 installation DVD, this is not a problem. You can do this operation with a disk partition management tool like EASUS and with Acronis (restore).
Start with changing the OS boot loader to only show Windows 8.1 as an option.

Then do a full backup of all the partitions on your disk for safekeeping.

Then either restore only the hidden partitions and the 8.1 partition, or use EASUS to delete the unwanted Windows7 partition and extend/move the Windos 8.1 partition. Acronis restore might be faster.
Try to reboot. You might have to boot on the Windows installation DVD to fix the startup of the computer, and that might take a few passes.

I used EASUS to delete the unwanted partition. I had issues when I tried to delete the partition and resize the remaining partition at the same time. When I did that one step at the time, it worked. Thanks for your help!
