Restoring from a NAS.
Apologies for asking this simple question. I have looked back using the forum search function and can see some old similar questions but nothing specifically applicable to my query. So apologies in advance. My simple question is:
I have recently purchased a Western Digital (WD) MyBookLive 2TB Nas drive (MBL). I have also very recently purchased Acronis TI2013 to back my complete laptop drive to the MBL. I thought it would be a very sensible idea to ensure I could recover from the NAS drive in the future event I ever needed to.
But I appear to have fallen at the first hurdle. The bootable Acronis recovery DVD I just made is asking me for an NDAS device ID key and a Write key.
I do not have this information. The only printed information on the WD MBL is the part number/serial number/Mac address.
So I appear to have reached a complete dead end.
Any help very much appreciated. Regards, yt.

Thanks Colin B for your reply.
I investigated further and it turns out that I could 'see' my drive under the 'Computers near me' option and also ensuring I was connected to my router via a cable rather than rely on Wifi which does not appear to work when the Acronis boot DVD is running - not unreasonable perhaps.
Once I selected that, I could navigate to my Acronis backup folder on the MBL and then perform a full recovery to a brand new identical disc temporarily installed in my Acer laptop. So now I have a completely usuable spare drive, safely stored away. In case I ever needed it, I intend to reinstall it and bring it up to date with the latest Acronis backup which I perform on a daily basis to the MBL. Time consuming but no problems at all.
I do tend to be very cautious as the laptop is now our only PC and could get dropped. The spare drive was only £50 and I thought it a wise investment - I could buy it now, but if I needed one in say 2 years time whose to say I could buy one at any price!
Thanks again. Regards, yt.
