roadmap to restore outlook 2010 after clean install WINDOWS 8 PRO X64 and MS OFFICE 2010

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am an absolute newbie on the ACRONIS 2013 product. So far i succeeded in restoring a complete OS hard disk to an SSD.

I have made an e-mail backup for my outlook 2010 info
I am planning a complete reinstall for the WINDOWS 8 PRO and the MS OFFICE 2010 product.

What are the steps i must follow to make this a success.
Please forgive me my bad english. I normally speak dutch.

Thanks for any help in advance..

Heribert,

Are you asking how to restore your email backup or restore a complete disk image? You say you have already restored the OS, was this a restore of a complete disk or a clone?

I ask, because if you have recovered a complete disk image, recovering your email folder will be similar.

Heribert,

if you completely reinstall Windows 8 pro, you will create new users and you will not be able to restore your email backup. You will have to:
- before you install Windows 8, if you have an .OST file caching your exchange email, move all the emails to a local PST file and backup this file,
-do a clean install of Windows 8, install Office/Outlook 2010,
- create your account settings in Outlook,
- depending on your accounts, this will create a new OST file, and possibly a PST file
- restore the individual outlook files (.PST).
- point outlook at the restored .PST files, if necessary, if one of them is the default folder for receiving email, of the default archive PST.
