Ilya wrote:Hello crowley,
I'll do everything possible to help you.
However, I need some additional information from you to investigate the issue and to provide you with a solution.
- Could you please let me know the build number of software you use?
- Have you tried to the whole drive/partition or just some certain folders?
- Could you please collect AcronisInfo and attach to your reply to this thread?
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.
Thanks for getting back to me Ilya
OK, i realized that i had the previous build, however i have since download the latest build (#9809).
I did install it over the previous build.
The problem is , when i start the program and i go to run a backup task like " my data " i will get this runtime error, then i click on "OK"
Then the whole program disappears, and it will not come back when i click on the Acronis icon to launch the program.
I have to restart the computer again then click on the acronis icon, but the same thing happens.
I have been trying to think what i have done lately, but nothing comes to mind...
But anyway here is the zip file from the "acronisInfo"

I just wonderd if anyone was still looking into this, after i sent the "acronisinfo file" in
I am not sure if it has just been forgotten about, but i have spent the last two days trying to fix this myself.
And i think i have finally done it.
I will have to gather all the information up and let you know how i fixed this, but its early days yet, i will have to run it a few times and create a few data file backups, i have just created a few, where it would not even let me before i had this problem, i kept getting those error messages,
I am sure acronis support new what the problem was but they wanted me to pay them on a "per day basis"
All i had to go buy was the information in the dialog boxes.
I can't understand why know one else has ever had this problem before, but anyway i will keep checking it and hopefully it should be fine

One solution might be to perform an uninstall of TrueImage
Run the cleanup utility
Reinstall TrueImage.
If you do this, I would perform a "disk" option backup of everything (all partitions) on the system drive before performing the uninstall.

As i said it seems to be working fine now.
It was one of the registry keys that had the wrong value.
This problem also would not allow me to update Java to the latest version.
I had to navigate to the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\microsoft\Windows\current version\Explorer\user shell folders
Value name "AppData" and change the value data from %APPDATA% TO %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming.
Then i was able to update java, and was also able to perform data backups........
So i don't know how this affected acronis, whether it was the registry key or java needed updating..
I would like to know what it was, but i am not that far advanced with this issue..or technically minded with this issue.
Here is the link that help me fix the problem.
