Scheduled backups
Hi,
I have Acronis TrueImage Home 2011 installed on 2 laptops (1xWin7Pro and 1xWinXPPro).
Disk Backups are scheduled to backup to a Linkstation Live NAS
I recently changed the linkstation so created new backup tasks.
The Win7machine does not start the backup.
The WinXP machine just managed to start the backup, but the notification email says the backup failed.
I have the latest build of ATI 2011 (6868)
I have downloaded the Build 461 Acronis Scheduler and run the file on both machines.
I have downloaded and run Schedule Manager, but I am unable to understand the output of the get list command
I have run the System report under ATI 2011 and am able to upload if required.
Please help on how I can get the scheduled backups to
a) wake up hibernating computer
b) successfully run the backup task
thanks
Vardhan

Vardhan,
Let's decompose the problem.
First, can you run the tasks manually to your NAS?
Second, put the computer to sleep manually, wake it up and quickly try to backup: does it work? There might be some delay for Windows to refresh the connection.
Third, do the task run where they are scheduled (without having to wake up the computer)?
If yes, create a Windows task to wake up the computer before the time of the scheduled backup, adjust the wake up time until it works.
If this option works, you might be facing a bug in ATI. Your alternative is to use Windows task manager to schedule your backups (this scheduler is more flexible as well).

Thanks guys,
The tasks were running to a nas, and they were starting. The difference was that they did not wake the computer and hence would start running the next time the computer was switched on. Usually that meant either the laptop was not at home or i could not spare the resources to have the backup run.
I recently found the switch to wake computer, so was trying that, at the same time as installing a new nas.
I will try Pat L's suggestions over the next few days and report back.
