Scheduled (full) backup always creates new backup file - why doesn't it overwrite old one?

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I am using Acronis True Image Home 2012 on my notebook on which I have set scheduled full backup of my hard drive to begin everyday at 9am or when I startup my computer.

Since I'm working with this notebook on two locations where I have external drives present (on the same drive letter) the backup is made on these external drives, but everytime when the backup is made on one location then on second location the old backup image is not overwritten but a new image is made - new file, and with that the external drives get filled up pretty quickly until I manually delete old backup images.

Is there any option to force ATIH to overwrite old backup images?

Kind regards,
Uros

UrosG,

ATI will always complete a new full backup before deleting an older one.
If you use different drives to backup, you should assign a different drive letter for each drive, and create a different task for each. THis will avoid that ATI tries to manage the task across several destination and, probably, get confused.
