Scheduled Wake From Suspend?

Thread needs solution

The configuration of scheduled backups seems inconsistent or incomplete to me.

On the scheduling page I can configure the software to wake up from suspend. Where is the option to suspend afterwards?

I see the option under backup settings to shutdown when complete, but that's not the same as suspend since it would prevent "tomorrow's" backup from running on time.

You don't have that option as a setting in ati, the machine will time out normally and return to standby/sleep/hibernate.

I agree. Not having the option was the whole reason behind my post. I was suggesting that it's a missing option that should be added. As my parents taught me "if you turn the light ON when you enter, turn it OFF when you exit!"

The whole point of suspend and resume is to conserve energy. Waiting for the timeout is needlessly wasteful, and only effective if the power options are so configured. (Sometimes I change mine to accomodate some other long running process).

But it's all moot since 2012 hasn't managed to wake my computer a single time since I first posted. The backup that should have occurred last night at 11:30 didn't run until I fired up the machine this morning.

If you really want your machine to go to hibernate directly after the task is finished, you can include an "after script" in the job and the script could contain the "shutdown /h" command.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you, why ATIH2012 didn't wake your machine from hibernate. I have never tried this and rolled back to ATIH2010 anyway.
